Chelsea to try and sign £40m star after completing signing of £50m Spanish player
Immediately after the completion of a deal for Brighton defender Marc Cucurella, Chelsea will look into a move for Kyle Walker-Peters.
However, The Blues have not been extremely active in the transfer market this year because Thomas Tuchel is aware that he will have to work hard to win the Premier League and that he will need to keep bolstering his team.
As a result, there have been some shocking media reports claiming that Chelsea are now really interested in a deal that would see Walker-Peters transfer to Stamford Bridge for £40 million.
In 37 appearances last season across all competitions, including 23 at left-back, Walker-Peters recorded two goals and four assists. His efforts impressed many Premier League coaches.
He has played 72 times for the Saints over the course of the last three seasons. Earlier in the transfer window, reports suggested that Manchester United and Arsenal were interested in signing him.
Now, reports on the Metro have claimed that Chelsea will look to complete the signing of Walker-peters once they officially announce the signing of Cucurella
It has been claimed that Chelsea have made an offer for Cucurella already this summer and believe that he will become a Blue after he reportedly handed in a transfer in order to force through a move away from Brighton
As United and Arsenal began to be linked with Walker-Peters, reports claimed Southampton would consider offers of £40m for the talented 25-year-old – So Chelsea will need to pay the same amount
