Chelsea told how they can complete Philippe Coutinho transfer and how much he will cost

The Barcelona hierarchy remain keen to get him off the wage bill and according to Sport, Coutinho’s agent Kia Joorabchian has been sounding out clubs in England over a potential move.

Coutinho has struggled to make an impact at Barcelona since making a £142million move to the Camp Nou from Liverpool in 2018.

And the playmaker has spent this season on loan in the Bundesliga with champions Bayern Munich, who have been paying all of his wages after shelling out £8million on a loan fee.

A permanent stay at the Allianz Arena seems unlikely, however, meaning Coutinho will have to find a new home. Chelsea have been the most heavily linked with a move, although the likes of Arsenal and Tottenham, and latterly Everton and Leicester have also been credited with an interest.

And according to Sport, the Blues have been told how they can complete a transfer for the 27-year-old this summer. Firstly, Chelsea will want to know how much he will cost them in a summer of uncertainty over financial power.

The report states that Barca are looking for a fee in the region of £84million for Coutinho, but would be willing to accept £65million – a huge decrease in value in the two years he has been in Spain.
