Ready to go wild! as Christian Pulisic could help Todd Boehly complete dream £103m Chelsea transfer with clear trick

This summer, Christian Pulisic might be crucial to Chelsea’s ability to sign Juventus defender Matthijs de Ligt. The 22-year-old center back has received a lot of interest from Stamford Bridge, as Thomas Tuchel is looking to replace Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger.

Although a deal hasn’t happened yet, it’s been reported that any team is willing to exploring all available options to close a deal. And in the midst of the west Londoners’ pursuit of De Ligt, the Italian heavyweights are reportedly interested in Pulisic, according to Tuttosport via Marca.

According to the report, Juventus would be ready to talking with Chelsea about a trade in order to make sure that the transfer benefits everyone. According to Tuttosport, in order for Chelsea to sign De Ligt, Juve would theoretically receive Pulisic or Timo Werner in addition to money.

Tuchel’s team is leading the competition to recruit the center-half, according to the Italian newspaper Il Corriere dello Sport, via Football Italia. De Ligt, whose contract with Juventus is now set to end in 2024, has reportedly also wooed Manchester United and Liverpool.

The Netherlands international, though, is rumored to have recently started contract negotiations with Juventus. The existing €120 million (£103 million) release clause will be reduced should he sign a new contract in Turin, according to rumors from Italy, which may come as a shock at first.

The revised price is not specified in the report, but Chelsea would benefit greatly from a cheaper clause should they decide to make a move. However, if the Dutchman does not sign a new contract and decides to remain in Turin for the upcoming season, his stated release clause will rise to €140 million (£121.2 million).

De Ligt’s transfer to Stamford Bridge was widely rumored to happen in January, but it never happened. The Blues were “ready to go wild,” according to the Italian newspaper La Repubblica, in their attempts to entice the defense. Rudiger and Christensen were looking for careers outside of the team, which Tuchel was unaware of at the time. Calciomercato claims that the west Londoners’ interest was just rekindled last month.

According to reports, Chelsea is serious about trying to sign De Ligt, and new information should emerge soon. Given the growing uncertainty surrounding Jules Kounde’s future, obtaining the defender’s signature might suddenly be more crucial than previously imagined.
