Complicated! Chelsea board makes ‘final contract decision’ on Chelsea player

According to reports, Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen is in the final months of his contract with the club, and so far, the Dane International has opted against signing the contract offered to him by the club.

However, the Athletic had claimed that the Chelsea board are upset with  Andreas Christensen after the Denmark international walked away from two contracts that had been agreed with the club and hired new agents who are now negotiating from scratch.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has revealed that the Chelsea board have told Christensen that they won’t be increasing their offer to him.

The Italian said on his YouTube channel: “Christensen’s situation seems really, really complicated,”

“Last August, they [Chelsea and Christensen] had an agreement — a verbal agreement.

“Then he changed his agent and changed his mind [about the deal].

“So Chelsea are saying, ‘We offer you the same contract we offered in August. If you want to accept, we’re happy, and if not, this is our bid.’

“This is why Christensen is exploring the market with his agent and [has] received many, many approaches.

“Barcelona and Bayern [Munich] are interested in Christensen as a free agent.”
