Confirmed! Chelsea star willing to take paycut and leave Chelsea in January

Chelsea goalkeeper signing Kepa Arrizabalaga has now dropped as Chelsea’s number one goalkeeper, with Edouard Mendy now in as the club’s first choice.

However, Kepa who has been rivalling David De Gea could also lose his position as second choice in the national team, with with Unai Simon – his successor at Bilbao – leapfrogging him in the Spanish pecking order.

According to The Sun, the Blues ace is now willing to take a reduction to his £150,000-a-week wages in order to facilitate a move away from the club.

Kepa’s wages have been a stumbling block to see him leave the club, and he’s now ready to take a paycut and move away from the club.

Spain boss Luis Enrique has now urged Kepa to fight back and resurrect his career.

“Kepa is not in a nice situation, but it is not the end of the world,” Enrique said on Tuesday.

“It’s the ideal moment for him to rise again, for us to see what Kepa is made of. What he is going through at Chelsea now is something that happens to all players throughout their careers.”
