CONFIRMED: two Chelsea players to miss Newcastle clash

Chelsea welcome Newcastle United to Stamford Bridge on Monday night, knowing a victory will see us leapfrog Liverpool into the top four.

Chelsea striker Timo Werner is set to return for the game against Newcastle United after suffering a dead leg in the win against Sheffield United last week, forcing him to sit out Thursday’s FA Cup clash with Barnsley.

While Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel will be glad to have Werner available for selection, he would be without two Chelsea players for the game against Newcastle United.

Chelsea duo Kai Havertz and Thiago Silva are expected to miss the game against Newcastle United.

Silva is still recovering from the thigh injury he suffered against Tottenham Hotspur while Havertz will miss the game against Newcastle United after suffering a hamstring strain in training last week.

Andreas Christensen was substituted at half-time of Chelsea’s 1-0 win against Barnsley after suffering headache but is expected to be available for selection against Newcastle United.
