Chelsea centre-back Antonio Rudiger struggled throughout the game as the Blues lost to Arsenal in the FA Cup final yesterday evening.

Certainly, Rudiger wasn’t the only player to play poorly yesterday, while some very questionable refereeing decisions also cost Frank Lampard’s side.

However, the German international is supposed to be the most experienced centre-half at the club but he failed to cope when coming up against some top-class forwards.

Rudiger gave away a chance early on when he allowed Aubameyang to get beyond him, while he was at sixes and sevens in the second half when he faced up against Pepe.

An upgrade for the 27-year-old will surely be considered by Lampard and the recruitment team when the season is over.

The German could not deal with either Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Nicolas Pepe throughout the game and fans on Twitter were not shy in speaking their mind about the defender’s performance:

@DarrenT78310980: Sell Rudiger
@Tanntroll1: Rudiger can hustle, but what more?
@TMaykah: He should be sold….!!! Sold… Asin sold
@SterlineGodfre1: I just cry😭😭😭😭😭when i see rudiger in our backline
