Thibaut Courtois reacted to Chelsea 4-1 shocking defeat to Brentford ahead of Champions League clash
Chelsea suffered a shocking 4-1 defeat to Brentford at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, Real Madrid beat Celta Vigo 2-1 away from home.
However, Real Madrid goalkeeper and former Blue Thibaut Courtois has had his say on Chelsea’s embarrassing 4-1 defeat to Brentford ahead of Wednesday’s Champions League clash.
“Today’s win is important,” the Belgium international said after Real Madrid’s win on Saturday (via Marca).
“Chelsea lost at home, [but] they will be very strong for Wednesday.
“We lack intensity at times and Chelsea are good at that.”
Meanwhile, Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel insists the defeat to Brentford was just a blip.
“It seems like it [a blip],” Tuchel said.
“After so many wins and good results, I will now refuse to make a drama out of this. Brentford made a lot of the ten minutes we gave them.
“We will dig in and try to find out why it’s like this. We will analyse and digest it. It’s hard to take and it’s unusual what happened today.”
