Date revealed, as Todd Boehly confident of becoming new Chelsea owner on this date

Todd Boehly has disclosed the date on which he expects to become the next owner of Chelsea Football Club.

According to Ben Jacobs, the American investor is optimistic that the purchase of the west London side will be completed by May 31.

Despite a late approach from Sir Jim Ratcliffe in a deal estimated to be worth roughly £4.25 billion, Raine Group designated Boehly’s consortium as the preferred bidder for the club on Friday.

With the buyout process nearing completion, offers from Stephen Pagliuca and Sir Martin Broughton were advised that they were failed.

Boehly and his partners have now entered an exclusivity period, which will give them enough time to complete the club’s purchase and takeover from Roman Abramovich.

However, The bid will be submitted to the UK government for approval, and they will give a new license in order for the club to be sold.

Following the Government’s green light, the Premier League will undergo their own Owners’ and Directors’ Test ahead of the takeover’s conclusion.
