REPORT: Chelsea on the verge to complete their third summer signing

The German star Kai Havertz is on the cusp of making the switch to Stamford Bridge move this summer as Chelsea teacher agreement over personal terms with the player.

The highly-coveted 21-year-old has already informed German outfits that he wants to depart from the club this summer, and is close to finalising his contract terms with the West London club, the PA news agency understands.

The Blues have emerged as the lone team keen on securing the services of Havertz this year with the spending power to forward a deal with Leverkusen.

Should Stamford Bridge chiefs come to a transfer fee agreement with the German club, then Havertz is expected to make move to Chelsea.

The Blues Owner Roman Abramovich’s continued staunch backing allows his team to flex some serious muscle in a transfer market where many rivals are still counting the cost of the coronavirus.

The West London club were able to recruit free-scoring RB Leipzig forward Timo Werner for £53million, with the Merseyside Reds unable to commit to the transfer fee.

The Blues already have Hakim Ziyech on board for next season, with the £34million winger having signed from Ajax. Leverkusen will demand at least £90million for Havertz, however, Chelsea hope to convince them to lower their price tag.
