Chelsea are really keen to strengthen their defence ahead of next season and the Blues are on it.
However, Chelsea are ready to make a £40million swoop for Brighton defender Lewis Dunk. London rivals Tottenham are ready to rival the Blues for the Seagulls’ skipper this summer.
According to the Sun, Dunk, is a lifelong Chelsea fan and believes he is on his way to Stamford Bridge.
It comes after pictures this week advertising Albion’s new kit featured stars like Yves Bissouma, Neal Maupay, Maty Ryan and new signing Adam Lallana.
But club captain Dunk was surprisingly not included in the promotional line-up.
Blues boss Frank Lampard wants to a bolster a defence that conceded 54 goals in the Premier League last season.
Chelsea have also considered a move for former Blues academy starlet Declan Rice — but West Ham have slapped a £80m price tag on the England international.
And Dunk, a mainstay in Brighton’s three seasons back in the top flight, is now emerging as a realistic target.
