Defender sent clear message about joining Chelsea this summer
In light of reports that Chelsea has contacted Middlesbrough about a potential transfer move, Isaiah Jones has been urged to stay with the club.
It is widely known in the media that manager Thomas Tuchel wants to start his summer transfer season and is in serious need of strengthening his backline.
The manager is aware that he needs to introduce some fresh meat to the club due to a number of departures from the team already and a few more players who are associated with exits, which has led to reports that they are interested in Jones.
The young player, a natural winger, lost out when Chris Wilder joined the team and rose to prominence in the Championship, where he registered nine assists and scored once while helping Boro miss out on the play-off spots.
The previous few weeks, it has been reported in the media that we have already contacted Boro about a potential transfer move, with clubs like Manchester United and Tottenham reportedly also interested.
However, Carlton Palmer believes Jones should remain put despite all the rumors because none of the aforementioned clubs will provide him regular playing time.
He said: “The clubs that he’s been linked with are fantastic football clubs, but he will not be playing and there’s no point going there.
“If the deal can be done, that he goes and then he comes back on loan to Middlesbrough, yeah, then do a deal like that, but he needs he needs to play.”
