Personal terms already discussed, Todd Boehly prepares new bid for 45m target – Romano confirms

According to Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea and Manchester City winger Raheem Sterling have reached an agreement on personal matters.

According to the Italian writer, compensation has “already been negotiated,” and Blues owner Todd Boehly is preparing a “new offer” to sign the England international:

Chelsea is moving forward with its preparations to secure Sterling’s services with an increased offer since Sterling is rumored to be eager to have his future decided by the time he returns from vacation at the beginning of next month.

Romano earlier claimed that the London club’s initial offer (worth €25 million/£21 million plus add-ons) was rejected. It has been suggested that they will need to raise their offer to at least £40 million to £45 million in order to reach an agreement with City.

With rivals Arsenal and Tottenham presumably out of the running, Chelsea are in a strong position to land Sterling, and there is now optimism that the 27-year-old will join with Stamford Bridge.
