Dembele’s latest Chelsea tweet sends Blues fans into a frenzy transfer saga

Chelsea fans have been in raptures after discovering an old tweet from Ousmane Dembele. This summer, the Barcelona forward has been linked with a free transfer to Stamford Bridge.

However, Dembele’s old Chelsea tweet has resurfaced, and it is fair to say it has caused some consternation among Blues supporters. The Frenchman has been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge this summer, according to reports.

Following Roman Abramovich’s sale of the club to Todd Boehly last month, the American billionaire wants to mark the start of the new era with some spectacular additions. Jules Kounde, Josko Gvardiol, and Christopher Nkunku have all been identified as possible summer additions.

However, Barcelona star Dembele is included, who is out of contract this summer after five years at the Nou Camp. While the 25-year-time old’s at the Catalan club has generally been a failure, he did have a strong second half of the season, registering nine assists in seven games at one stage.

While PSG and Manchester United have been mentioned, a reunion with Thomas Tuchel appears to be on the cards. At Borussia Dortmund, Dembele was at his peak while he was playing under the German.

However, fans believe that the France international has an allegiance to Chelsea after an old tweet of his came to light. Back in August 2013, it simply read “Ohh Chelsea” and might have been in response to the Super Cup final between the Blues and Bayern Munich – that ended with the Germans winning on penalties.

Dembele, who was coming up through the Rennes academy at the time, has inadvertently excited the Chelsea fanbase, including this supporter who said: “The wait is almost over my friend.” Another said: “Join us pls.”
