Todd Boehly set to sanction Lukaku’s transfer on one condition

Todd Boehly set to sanction Lukaku’s transfer on one condition

After a disappointing first season at Chelsea, Romelu Lukaku wants to return to his previous club Inter Milan this summer.

Lukaku failed to establish himself in Chelsea’s starting lineup following his club-record £97.5 million transfer last summer.

The 29-year-old striker’s contract at Stamford Bridge expires in four years, although he has stated that he wants to return to Serie A this summer.

While Lukaku wants to return to Inter Milan, the Italian club cannot afford a permanent deal for the Belgian striker, therefore they are hoping to sign him on loan from Chelsea.

However, According to La Gazzetta dello Sport via Daily Mail, Chelsea owner Todd Boehly is ready to sanction Lukaku’s loan deal to Inter Milan only if it benefits Chelsea financially.

Boehly is expected to sit down with Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel this week to discuss Lukaku’s future at the club.

Lukaku is said to have a private jet on standby to take him to Italy as soon as Boehly approves his loan spell.

Should Boehly decline the move, Lukaku will reportedly ask to meet with the American owner to discuss his future at the club.
