Don’t sell them! as Tuchel stop Marina Granovskaia from selling two Chelsea players in January

Spanish side Barcelona are reportedly keen on signing the Chelsea duo in January as new Barcelona boss Xavi seeks to strengthen his attacking options.

However, according to Spanish media outlet Sport via Metro, Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has put a stop to Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech leaving the club in January.

The report claims Barcelona chiefs have been in contact with Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia about the possibility of signing Ziyech and Werner on loan in January.

Meanwhiletuch, Tuchel has reportedly blocked their exits, insisting he doesn’t want to be left with a smaller squad for the second half of the season with Champions League and Premier League titles on the line.

Ziyech and Werner have been in and out of the Chelsea team this season but Tuchel believes they both have important roles to play this season.

Tuchel knows he’ll need to rely on the pair should injuries continue to wreck havoc on his regular starting XI and will not entertain the idea of allowing the pair to leave on loan to Barcelona.
