Double injury boost for Chelsea ahead of Liverpool clash

Ahead of Sunday’s Premier game against Liverpool reports claims two Chelsea key players are back to action on Sunday.

According to the Mirror, Chelsea stars Thiago Silva and Christian Pulisic are in contention to face Liverpool this Saturday.

The duo were missing for our season opener against Brighton and Hove Albion last Monday. Goals from Jorginho, Reece James, and Kurt Zouma ensured we started off with all three points on the board.

Despite a busy summer, only Timo Werner and Kai Havertz made their Blues debut at the Amex. Pulisic has not featured for Chelsea since injuring his hamstring in last season’s FA Cup final. He was not a part of the Chelsea squad for Brighton as he suffered a setback in his recovery.

He is now expected to make the cut for the clash against Liverpool. The youngster was a thorn in Jurgen Klopp’s side last season. He played starring roles in the UEFA Super Cup and the league clash at Anfield. Although we lost both matches, he made easy work of what was an excellent Reds backline.

Having him available this Saturday could prove pivotal against the reigning champions.

Meanwhile, Silva could be set for his first start as a Chelsea player this weekend. The 35-year-old joined on a free from French champions PSG and has been one of the best defenders over the last decade.

He has spent last week in training and is now in the fray to face Liverpool. An experienced head, his leadership, and organizational abilities could prove key against a rampant Liverpool attack. Fellow summer signing Werner also looks set to lead the line once again after he picked up a slight knock against Brighton.
