Fabrizio finally confirms Chelsea ‘have opened official talks’ to sign €60m-rated world-class defender

Breaking news this Tuesday lunch time surrounds Chelsea and fans can finally get excited about a potential new signing.

But no, it is not Erling Haaland or Declan Rice as of yet anyway, it is actually for a new centre back.

The transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has broken the news via his Twitter account today, and that is that Chelsea have opened official talks to sign Sevilla centre back, Jules Kounde.

The French international is a wanted man but he is open to joining Chelsea and negotiations are well underway.

Manchester United and Tottenham had both been strongly linked with making a move for him, but it looks like Chelsea are now trying to get ahead in this race.

As Romano says here, it is now up to the two clubs to agree on a final fee for the 22-year old to see whether he becomes a Chelsea player this season and beyond.
