Facing Victor Moses was tougher for me than Messi, Bale and Eden Hazard- Manchester united defender confesses

Manchester United left-back Luke Shaw has gone for the surprising choice of Victor Moses as the toughest opponent has faced in his career.

Shaw started his career at Southampton before making the switch to Manchester United, and Shaw still hasn’t forgotten facing Victor Moses as a young defender, as he admitted that the Nigeria’s power and direct running made it difficult for him to cope.

Shaw even went as far as rating Moses as a tougher opponent than facing Gareth Bale, Lionel Messi and former Chelsea star Eden Hazard.

“People always think I’m joking, but one of my hardest games ever was against Victor Moses when I was coming in as a 17-year-old at Southampton,” Luke Shaw said on United’s official website.

“Maybe because I was so young. He was really quick, direct, strong and that was a challenge for me. “I’ve played against the likes of Gareth Bale, Messi and Hazard, and they were all so good, but I always remember Victor Moses as a really tough opponent as well.”

Moses has been a Chelsea player since 2012 when he signed from Wigan, but it was under Antonio Conte that he excelled the most, playing as a right wing-back and destroying oppositions as Chelsea won the league.
