Fee AGREED: Chelsea have finally agreed an £85m fee to land German star

According to reports, Chelsea are still in negotiations for the final stages of a deal to complete the signing of Kai Havertz from Bayer Leverkusen.

However, The initial fee has been agreed, the final negotiations is just about finalising how the deal will be structured and the final bonus additions. Alex Goldberg who hosts The Byline podcast has some interesting information on this on his show last night.

Goldberg has many top contacts in football after interviewing a host of players, journalists, and coaches. So we know him to be well informed when it comes to inside information.

He suggested last night on his podcast with Jan Aage Fjortoft that Chelsea have agreed a fee with Bayer to sign Havertz.

He said: “People know I speak to contacts and hear things. So if I was to tell you Chelsea have agreed an £85m fee to sign Kai Havertz, £60m up front and it is now about how it’s structured, would that be realistic?

Jan simply replied: “I think so. I’m 100% sure they will find a way.”

As we know by now, often it is these types of insiders who will get the finer details of deals, and reporters will often have to keep things under wraps until the club allow them to release the information. Because leaks can effect deals.

But it is safe to say that this information is very solid, and it is more than likely a fact that a fee has been agreed and this deal is in the final stages.
