Finally, Pulisic reveals why he left Borussia Dortmund to join Chelsea

Chelsea spent around £57m to sign Christian Pulisic from Borussia Dortmund in January 2019.

Pulisic has had to prove himself at the club and earn a place in Frank Lampard’s side, and he has been one of the best players in the Chelsea team following the restart.

Pulisic has now revealed why he signed up for the club last year, as he admits that he enjoyed watching Chelsea as a kid and also wanted to be the first American to make it at the club.

Asked why he took the decision to join the Blues last year, Pulisic told SiriusXM Radio: “Chelsea is a massive club. I watched Chelsea growing up and I wanted to play in the Premier League. It was something about the mentality, the winning history and the club.

“No American has really done it at Chelsea, not that it was the key reason, but it was a gut feeling. I had the opportunity to come and to play for Chelsea is just a huge honour for anyone.

“I just couldn’t pass up on it. I thought it was an amazing club and I still feel it is an amazing club, it was just that feeling in the moment.”

With the rate Pulisic is going, he won’t only be the best American to ever play for Chelsea but the best American to play in the Premier League.
