Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has given several academy players an amazing chance to prove themselves in the first team and one of them is the 19 year old Billy Gilmour the young lad has been amazing and give Lampard more confidence in him.
And the teenager’s big statement night came against Liverpool in the fifth round of the FA Cup after Lampard handed him a start ahead of vice-captain Jorginho.
Gilmour never looked intimidated in front of more accomplished players and held his own throughout the 90 minutes as goals from Willian and Ross Barkley propelled the Blues over the finish line.
However, the 19-year-old’s nutmeg of Fabinho was arguably one of the best highlights from that night at Stamford Bridge!
However, Chelsea have been drawn to face Leicester City in the quarter-final of the FA Cup on the weekend of June 27-28, with the Premier League campaign scheduled to get back underway on June 17.
