Flying to London for his Medical! Fabrizio Romano confirms Chelsea third summer signing
According to latest reports, Gabriel Slonina, a goalkeeper for the United States’ youth national team, will join Chelsea from the MLS franchise Chicago Fire for a base price of $10 million, with the potential for add-ons to bring the total to $15 million.
Before the deal is formally completed by both teams, the 18-year-old goalkeeper will go to London to pass a physical.
After the transaction is complete, Slonina will spend the remainder of the current MLS season on loan with the Fire before moving to Chelsea on January 1.
To confirm the deal, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano wrote on Twitter: “Excl: Gaga Slonina to Chelsea, here we go! Agreement with Chicago Fire for $15m, add-ons included. Talented GK and his agent will fly to London on Sunday to complete medical and sign. #CFC
“Slonina will finish the season with Chicago before joining Chelsea on January.”
