Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger is yet to renew his contract with Chelsea as the defender contract ends at the end of the season.

Now, according to Sky Sports, Rudiger in ‘no rush’ to sign new contract, wants to be made highest-paid defender in Premier League

Sky Sports claimed earlier that Chelsea have had ‘positive talks’ with Antonio Rudiger regarding a new deal.

Now, they add that the centre-back is in ‘no rush’ to sign a new deal even though his current contract expires at the end of this season.

As per report from Sky, Chelsea would need to make him the highest-paid defender in the Premier League for him to stay here.

As per Spotrac, Raphael Varane is currently the highest-earning defender in England, pocketing £340,000 per week from Manchester United.

Virgil van Dijk signed a new long-term deal with Liverpool back in August but his exact wages have not been revealed yet. It would seem that Chelsea will have to match Varane’s salary to satisfy Rudiger.
