‘Taking him out for a coffee will help us? as Tuchel reacted to latest Chelsea player contract situation at Chelsea

Tuchel and Chelsea board are really looking forward to Antonio Rudiger’s contract situations at Chelsea and wants the German to stay at Stamford Bridge as his contracts ends at the end of the season.

However, Chelsea boss has reacted to the contract situation once again in his press conference this afternoon ahead of our FA Cup clash against Chesterfield.

Thomas Tuchel quipped when asked whether he was working to convince Antonio Rudiger to sign a new deal: “I don’t know if taking him for coffee will help… maybe it would push him out!”

“He needs to feel it by minutes and by actions. I don’t feel he needs a lot of words and pampering and coffee talks and invitations to dinner, and whatever.

“He is a top professional. This is what he proves and he is very important.

“It is a no problem situation for me,” the boss added.

“Also for Toni, he can still deliver. He played a fantastic match in a back-four and so he’s super reliable.”

However, Rudiger has still not made a definitive decision on his future, with Chelsea not giving up on contract talks and multiple clubs trying to sign him as a free agent.

According to the latest update, Chelsea have had positive talks with the 28-year-old – but the player wants to become the highest-paid centre-back in the league which may not be something Chelsea are prepared to consider.
