Four Premier League clubs ready to sign Loftus-Cheek

Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek could leave the club before the end of the transfer window after failing to make the squad for Chelsea’s last two games.

Loftus-Cheek started first game of the season at Brighton but has failed to make Frank Lampard’s squad for subsequent matches against Liverpool and Barnsley.

It is believed Chelsea will be willing to let Loftus-Cheek leave the club on loan this summer and at least four Premier League clubs are interested in signing the midfielder.

According to Daily Mail, Southampton, West Brom, Aston Villa and West Ham are interested in signing Loftus-Cheek on loan if he becomes available.

Southampton are in the market for a midfielder after the departures of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Harrison Reed and Mario Lemina left Ralph Hasenhuttl with four central midfielders.

Loftus-Cheek’s wages could prove to be a stumbling block for any move to occur and Chelsea might have to subsidise part of his salary if the club wants him to leave on loan.

When asked about the future of Loftus-Cheek and Antonio Rudiger, Chelsea boss Frank Lampard said: “The situation with both is that they weren’t in the squad. That is just a choice at the moment.

“I keep getting asked about the size of the squad. There might be movement. It will have to be things which are right for the club and individuals and me and in terms of what happens in the next couple of weeks.”
