Good deal? as Barcelona set to allow player to join Chelsea for £30m in January
Latest reports reaching us that, Chelsea are reportedly considering a £30million move for Barcelona full-back Sergino Dest as Thomas Tuchel looks to strengthen his defence next month.
However, according to The Express via Daily Mail, Barcelona will allow the full-back join Chelsea in January as cover for Ben Chilwell, who suffered a partial ACL tear last month.
Dest is primarily deployed as a right-back but his versatility means he is able to cover on the opposite flank equally as adeptly.
Barcelona boss Xavi Hernandez reportedly prefers centre-backs Oscar Mingueza and Ronald Araujo and utility man Sergi Roberto at right-back.
Dest only joined Barcelona from Ajax last year and was a regular under former Barcelona boss Ronald Koeman.
However, he has dropped the pecking order at the Spanish side following Koeman’s sacking and the arrival of Xavi Hernandez.
