Good News: Christian Pulisic delivers massive Chelsea injury update

Christian Pulisic has delivered a massive injury update as he closes in on a return to the Chelsea first team.

The attacker has been sidelined since the beginning of January with an abductor muscle problem, with Blues boss Frank Lampard facing a growing list of players absent.

Jorginho is missing for two Premier League clashes plus the Champions League second-leg against Bayern Munich, all of which due to suspensions picked up for yellow cards.

On the injury front, N’Golo Kante has a muscle injury, while Mateo Kovacic is suffering from an Achilles problem and Callum Hudson-Odoi has a hamstring issue.

Willian is also a doubt for Chelsea’s next clash against Everton this week after picking up an Achilles issue during the FA Cup win over Liverpool on Tuesday.

But Pulisic has given Lampard a welcome boost in a message on Instagram, stating that he is “super close” to returning to action. The American international had a slightly slow start to his career at Stamford Bridge after making his move from Borussia Dortmund in the summer.

But five goals in three games in November looked like it could be the start of something special for the attacker. However, his torn abductor muscle came at an inopportune time for both he and Chelsea, with the Blues unable to bring in any back up in the January transfer window.
