Good news: Edouard Mendy return date confirmed!

Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy reportedly felt pain in his right thigh in the early stages of training while on international duty with Senegal and immediately pulled out of the session.

Mendy’s injury was examined in a hospital in Rabat and according to The Athletic, the early diagnosis suggests the injury is only ‘minor’.

Mendy is expected to miss a maximum of just two weeks and the game against Southampton on October 17 could come too early for the 28 year old goalkeeper.

Mendy could be available for Chelsea’s Champions League game against Sevilla on October 20.

Kepa Arrizabalaga, who kept a clean sheet in Spain’s goalless draw against Portugal, could be handed a chance against Southampton should Mendy be ruled out.
