According to Spanish media outlet AS, the Chelsea board are keen on signing Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Jan Oblak this summer.
The goalkeeper is considered one of the best in the world and added to his superb reputation with a terrific display against Liverpool in the Champions League.
Chelsea boss Frank Lampard is keen on signing a goalkeeper this summer despite Kepa Arrizabalaga’s improved form which saw him keep a clean sheet in Chelsea’s last two games.
Oblak is under contract at Atletico until 2023 and reportedly has a €120million (£107.5m) release clause in that deal.
Meanwhile, Liverpool legend Graeme Souness has urged Chelsea to sign Oblak.
He said: “Do we know how old he is? There you go, Chelsea!
“Chelsea are looking for a goalkeeper. He’s been a top man for a long time.”
