Graham Potter considering to start 21-years-old Chelsea star against Palace after big impression in training
According to reports in the English media, Chelsea striker Armando Broja has made a big impression on new manager Graham Potter in training.
The Albanian international has not been handed a start so far this season but there is now a growing possibility that he will be named in the lineup to face Crystal Palace after the international break.
Broja had performed well out on loan at Southampton last year but, on his return to Cobham in the summer, it was widely believed that he would be sold, with West Ham, Everton and Newcastle all keen on securing the player’s services.
However, the forward was blocked from leaving Stamford Bridge and he was handed a new contract instead. With Potter seemingly very keen on the 21-year-old, it looks as though the decision to keep him will pay off.
If Broja does get more starting opportunities, though, there will be question marks over the future of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
However, The Gabonese international only joined on deadline day and it is widely assumed he was signed at the behest of previous manager Thomas Tuchel. It will be interesting to see how Potter uses the 33-year-old in upcoming games.
