Graham Potter wants to bring 188-goals superstar to Chelsea in a swap deal involving Lukaku – Reports

According to reports, Chelsea is interested in signing striker Romelu Lukaku on a permanent basis as part of a deal to sign Harry Kane away from Tottenham Hotspur during the 2023 winter transfer window.

For the past eight seasons, Kane has been a force to be reckoned with in the Premier League. He has two years remaining on his present contract at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. With a staggering 188 goals in 288 games, he is the third-highest scorer in league history.

The 29-year-old attacker enjoys a strong start to the 2022-23 campaign and is a total forward in every way. In eight games for Antonio Conte’s team in all competitions, he has already scored five goals.

Contrarily, Lukaku is currently on loan at Inter Milan. He cost the Blues a club record £97.5 million to sign him last summer, but he didn’t live up to expectations, scoring just 15 goals in all competitions. He has scored one in three Serie A games so far this season.

According to CalcioMercatoWeb, new Chelsea head coach Graham Potter wants to sign Kane in a swap deal involving Lukaku. The move, which will reunite the Belgian with his former boss Conte at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, could be a player-plus-cash offer too.

However, Lukaku is adamant to stay at his former club, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano. Speaking on his YouTube channel, the Italian journalist claimed that the Nerazzurri are interested in retaining the attacker’s services for one more season.

Romano said: “[Inter] feel that they will have a chance to keep him for one more year at least on loan and also for next season, but it has to be negotiated with Chelsea.”

He added: “They already discussed it when they built the one-year loan deal, so let’s see if Graham Potter will decide to change the situation.

“But Inter are absolutely happy with Lukaku and optimistic that they can keep him long term because there is an important point: Lukaku only wants Inter as of today.”
