“He could’ve broken Henry’s assist record”, “He’s playing like prime Alves” – Chelsea fans ‘shocked’ by Chelsea player performance who proved ‘haters’ wrong in 3-0 win over wolves

Cesar Azpilicueta’s performance in Chelsea’s resounding 3-0 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers on October 8 astonished Chelsea supporters.

With goals from Kai Havertz, Christian Pulisic, and Armando Broja, Graham Potter’s team easily won.

In the 45+3 minute, Havertz gave the Blues the lead by heading in a beautiful cross from Mason Mount.

Following a deft one-two with Mount, Pulisic then extended Chelsea’s advantage in the 54th minute.

In the 89th minute, Broja sealed the victory by sending a powerful shot past Wolves goalkeeper Jose Sa.

Many people discussed Potter’s starting lineup for the match, with some supporters strongly disagreeing with the choice to start captain Azpilicueta.

The seasoned defender handled the threat posed by Goncalo Guedes of the Wolves effectively, though.

Azpilicueta attempted one shot but instead made three crucial passes with a passing accuracy of 78.9%.

Additionally, he received the most touches of any player on the field (100).

The Spanish player was as dependable going forward as he was on defense, routinely picking out players like Mason Mount and Conor Gallagher.

However, Azpilicueta’s performance did not go unnoticed and here are some reactions from supporters on Twitter to the Chelsea captains outing against Wolves:

@CFCDUBois: Azpilicueta could’ve broken Henry’s assist record in one half if we could finish

@dicey_armaney:Azpilicueta was shockingly good tho, I thought he’s finished

@Pulisicate:Azpilicueta deserve at least 2 assists already.

@CFCKaz6:What on earth did Azpilicueta have for breakfast oh my god, what a performance so far

@HarryCFC170:Azpilicueta running around like he’s 23 years old, not 33. Good half by him

@B4LDB4ST4RD: Potter has us playing champagne football with this lineup and even azpilicueta is playing like prime dani Alves omg

@NizaarKinsella:Azpilicueta is putting in his best performance in some time at wing-back. His yellow card earlier was harsh imo.

@Denzo_CFC:How on earth has Azpilicueta become a better attacker than he is a defender as he ages

@JorginhoFan5: azpilicueta is putting in a massive shift today by the way, i haven’t seen anyone talk about it yet.
