“He has not done it on a regular basis” – Roy Keane sends strong warning message to Chelsea player after 2-0 win over Tottenham

Hakim Ziyech scored Chelsea’s opener with a stunning goal in the 2-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday at Stamford Bridge.

However, the Moroccan has now started Chelsea’s last three league games having only started nine all season.

Meanwhile, Roy Keane has warned Chelsea winger Hakim Ziyech that he must now begin to deliver good performances on a regular basis to keep his place in the Chelsea starting XI.

After starting the season out of favour under Thomas Tuchel he is now beginning to find some consistency with two goals in his last two appearances, but Keane has challenhed the winger to deliver those performances ‘week in, week out.’

Keane told Sky Sports: “I think the reason he hasn’t been playing regularly is he hasn’t been consistent.”

“He set a good standard today and scored during the week but he needs to be consistent with it.

“To play at one of the big clubs you have to do it week in week out and as talented as he is, he has not done it on a regular basis.”

Meanwhile, Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel hailed Ziyech’s performance against Tottenham Hotspur as one of his best for Chelsea.

“Maybe it was his best game, it was a very good game overall,” Tuchel said of Ziyech.

“He took the risk where it was possible, he was safe when it was possible to be safe.

“It’s probably the best position for him, we don’t normally have this position in a 3-4-3. The overlap gave him the space and the strike was brilliant.”
