‘He really found his feet under Tuchel, but poor under Lampard’— Glen Johnson reveals how Tuchel Changed Chelsea player

Former Chelsea right-back Glen Johnson has hailed the quality of Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger.

Rudiger has been one of Chelsea’s best players under Thomas Tuchel, and the German is now being seen as one of the best centre-backs in the world.

However, Rudiger is in the final year of his contract with Chelsea, and so far he’s yet to agree terms to a new deal, with reports claiming that both parties aren’t close to agreeing terms for a new deal.

Johnson has hailed Rudiger’s improvement under Tuchel and also urged him to sign a new deal with the club, claiming that the grass isn’t greener on the other side.

“In the past under other managers like Frank Lampard he’s been erratic but under Thomas Tuchel he’s really found his feet. Johnson told BettingOdds.

“The side’s looking great, he’s playing great and his manager has a lot of confidence in him. If I was him, I’d be looking to stay at Chelsea if they can strike a deal.

“Everybody always believes that the grass is greener but it very rarely is. I’d just try and sort out a contract.

“It can’t be that difficult. Chelsea must want to keep him and I imagine he wants to stay so they’re the easy deals to do. If I was him I’d be definitely looking to re-sign.”
