Reports have claimed that Chelsea have sent a proposal to Ajax about a summer deal for left-back Nicolas Tagliafico. Chelsea have been in the headlines for the past few months as reports have claimed that boss Frank Lampard is desperate to spend some serious money and acquire a new left-back.
And that has led to some reports in the media suggesting that they are interested in trying to sign Tagliafico from Ajax, with reports claiming that they see him as a cheaper alternative to top transfer target Ben Chilwell. Now reports from Spain suggest Chelsea have already made an approach for Tagliafico, but face competition from Barcelona and the likes of Arsenal for the 27-year-old’s signature.
Mundo Deportivo claim the Argentine has a proposal on the table from the Premier League club, but reveal nothing about the details of a deal.
The report goes on to suggest that Tagliafico has an agreement to leave Ajax in the summer transfer window and is actually interested in making that transfer move to the Premier League during the summer transfer window.
The season will soon be getting underway so thoughts will surely be on trying to secure Champions League football for next season for Chelsea, while also being able to keep everyone safe during the coronavirus outbreak.
But if the reports are true and have sent across their proposal for a potential transfer deal, then Chelsea could be a great move for Tagliafico.
Frank Lampard likes to play his kind of football at Chelsea, he would fit straight into that Chelsea side and he would be arriving on a small fee, so there would not be that massive pressure to perform straight away. We are big admirers of Tagliafico and believe he is one of the best in the game right now, so if there really is a chance to sign him up, Chelsea should take it.
