‘He’s currently undergoing medical with Chelsea’ – Fabrizio Romano gives massive update on next Chelsea signing
Marc Cucurella, a long-term defensive target for Chelsea, is now in a great position to be signed after Chelsea outpaced Manchester City.
However, The 24-year-old had been in advanced negotiations with the Premier League champions this summer, and a deal with Brighton was anticipated. However, Pep Guardiola’s team pulled out of the signing because they couldn’t afford the £50 million asking price.
Prior to his £52 million deal, Cucurella is reportedly finishing up a medical in London, according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano.
Fabrizio Romano said, Marc Cucurella is in London since yesterday and he’s now currently undergoing medical tests with Chelsea.
The medical exam is the ‘final step’ for his transfer, after which the documents between Chelsea and Brighton will be signed.
Romano tweeted: “Marc Cucurella is in London as expected since yesterday and he’s now currently undergoing medical tests with Chelsea. “It’s the final step, then waiting for documents to be signed between clubs then join Chelsea. Here we go confirmed.”
The official announcement is expected to follow soon afterwards and it could come early as tomorrow.
