‘His poor form?, I don’t know what to say – Tuchel says of Chelsea player who scored 1 goal since October for Chelsea

It’s clear enough Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku is struggling at Chelsea following his recent comments.

However, The Blues striker Romelu Lukaku has scored just once in the Premier League since October and his poor form has coincided with Chelsea’s struggles.

He has also scored just once in his last five appearances for Chelsea in all competitions after being dropped from a game against Liverpool for public comments bemoaning Thomas Tuchel’s tactical system.

He was unable to find the net against Manchester City or Brighton or in either leg of the Carabao Cup semi final against Tottenham but he did find a goal in the FA Cup against Chesterfield of the National League.

Tuchel insists he can’t explain Lukaku’s poor form for the Blues and insists it’s a mixture of a lot of issues.

“I don’t know if I can explain it,” said Tuchel when asked what was wrong with Lukaku.

“It’s very rare in football that you have a problem and it’s a one-thing solution. It’s always a mix of a lot of influences. He was already more involved. At the moment he struggles, there are reasons for it. We have already discussed them. That’s the way it is. He’s not the only one we rely on to win games. It’s nothing special.”

Tuchel added: “Welcome to reality, that’s it. We are in the spotlight. We are judged. That’s our daily business. If you are a decisive player and things go well people talk about you and if not people talk about you. It’s part of the business like it or not.”
