‘How is he so sure? Tuchel blasts Mike Dean for latest decision in Chelsea’s draw against Brighton

The Blues are now eight points behind leaders Manchester City following the 1-1 draw against Brighton.

However, Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has blamed the referee for Chelsea’s inability to beat Brighton at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night.

A 91st-minute equaliser from Danny Welbeck cancelled out Romelu Lukaku’s first-half header.

Tuchel believes Chelsea should have been given a penalty particularly when Christian Pulisic went down under a challenge from Joel Veltman.

Tuchel also felt Mason Mount could have been awarded a spot-kick but referee Mike Dean waved away the Blues’ protestations.

Tuchel told Amazon Prime: “We have a horrible decision from the referee for 2-0. It wasn’t even checked. Everything against us. We have two injuries again.

He added: “Normally I would never say it but we have a 100 per cent penalty against Pulisic, the 50/50 for Mason Mount to make it 2-0.

“Why does he need to blow before the ball goes in? How is he so sure? The penalty is a joke, honestly a joke.”
