Chelsea returned back to winning ways in the Premier League with victory over Aston Villa after back-to-back draws in the top division.

However, former Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas has hailed Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi for his brilliant performance in Chelsea’s 3-1 victory over Aston Villa on Sunday.

Hudson-Odoi won the penalty for Chelsea’s first goal which Jorginho converted and he also delivered a brilliant cross for Romelu Lukaku’s goal.

Meanwhile, Fabregas has sent a four-word message to Hudson-Odoi on Instagram following the game against Aston Villa.

Fabregas wrote: “Well played big man.”

However, Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has also praised the 21 year old for his massive performance against Aston Villa.

“I think he was brilliant today and we forced him. Normally it was clear that he plays one half to a maximum of 60 minutes. This was already more than any recommendation from fitness department but he was strong in training so I wanted to have him on the pitch. Tuchel said.

“Hakim Ziyech had only one training session, Callum had at least two and a half, so we decided to put him in and he was involved.

“He overcame some obstacles today and some adversity. That was a big game, a very important game from him. We took a kind of a risk here because he just came back from Covid.”
