(Image): Chelsea officially confirm transfer of midfielder
Chelsea have officially confirmed Billy Gilmour will spend the 2021/22 season on loan in the Premier League with Norwich City.
The 20 year old was part of Chelsea’s Champions League winning squad last season and was also part of Scotland’s Euro 2020 squad, with the midfielder named man of the match in Scotland’s goalless draw against England.
Gilmour joined the Chelsea Academy from Rangers in the summer of 2017 and has made 22 senior appearances for the Blues since his debut as a substitute in a 2-2 league draw with Sheffield United in August 2019.
He will now continue to gain first-team experience in 2021/22 with Norwich under the management of Daniel Farke, who was in charge of Borussia Dortmund’s reserves during Thomas Tuchel’s time as the club’s first-team boss.
The Canaries return to the Premier League this season following a one-year absence, having finished top of the Championship table last term.
