Injury update: Billy Gilmour could be out for the rest of the season

Chelsea midfielder Billy Gilmour is the latest to join the injury list, as the youngster could likely be ruled out for the rest of the Premier League season due to a knee injury.

However, Chelsea’s woes in midfield seems to be increasing with each day, with Mateo Kovacic and N’Golo Kante currently out injured.

The 19-year-old came off with 10 minutes to go after starting the game away at Crystal Palace on Tuesday evening.

Gilmour looked in discomfort following a 19th-minute collision with Luka Milivojevic, and although he played on until the 80th minute, the youngster got an injury in that game.

Chelsea still have four Premier League games to play, as well as an FA Cup semifinal meeting with Manchester United and a second leg round of sixteen Champions League clash against Bayern Munich.

Along with Gilmour, N’Golo Kante and Mateo Kovacic are expected to miss this weekend’s clash with Sheffield United after suffering minor hamstring and Achilles problems respectively.
