This forced N’Golo Kante and Mateo Kovacic to both play having only just returned from injury, and for Kovacic having only just returned from actually having Covid-19.
It was disgraceful from the league and this could have and still might have a dangerous detrimental effect on these players forced to play whilst unfit.
But on they went and in the end it was very disappointing to come away with just a point. But defender Antonio Rudiger has reiterated the importance of both Kante and Kovacic via the Chelsea website after the game.
Rudiger said: “It is not easy for him, he has been out for a number of time.”
