According to Sky Sport Italia journalist Fabrizio Romano, Werner will accept a move to the likes of Chelsea this summer window.
Chelsea may have one of the most exciting young sides in the Premier League right now and many people may be getting excited about the future of Chelsea, but that does not mean that they simply cannot spend in order to progress.
For all his talent, frank Lampard knows that he needs to improve in key areas of the pitch for Chelsea and adding another striker to the side is a must in the summer, as they need to add more goals the attack.
And Werner is high up on the shopping list of Chelsea after another stunning season with RB, in which he has developed into one of the best strikers in the game and netted an impressive 29-goals in all competitions this season.
Liverpool currently lead the chase, but with reports suggesting that the Reds do not want to complete a deal in the transfer window, Romano has now come out and claimed that Werner may accept a move to London. He tweeted: “Liverpool two weeks ago asked time to Leipzig for Timo Werner. “The two clubs are not in official talks yet – but lfc are still Werner’s priority.
“He spoke with Klopp many times and he will wait Liverpool. “He’d consider other bids only if Liverpool will decide to give up.”
Liverpool seems to be his preferred destination, but a move to Chelsea may well be the best fit for the young man, especially as the Blues need to add to their attack and probably would hand him more game time that he may get at Liverpool.
