‘It’s Happening’- Chelsea receive massive FA punishment after Reece James red card at Anfield
Anthony Taylor gave Reece James a red card against Liverpool and saw that Chelsea completed an entire half with a man down in a game that Chelsea could have won, and for an incident that wasn’t his fault.
However, The FA has now decided to fine Chelsea to the tune of £25,000 for not controlling their players in the draw against Liverpool at Anfield.
Thomas Tuchel’s side have been charged for breaching two of the FA rules at Anfield last month.
The FA have released a statement, thus: “Chelsea FC has been fined £25,000 for two breaches of FA Rule E20.1 which occurred during their Premier League fixture against Liverpool FC on Saturday 28 August 2021.
“The club admitted failing to ensure that its players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion during both the 48th minute of the first half and following the half-time whistle.”
Chelsea showed resilience to hold on to a 1-1 draw at Anfield in what was a remarkable performance.
