Just in: Japan set to back out from hosting Club World Cup 2021 after latest development

Latest reports claims that The 2021 Club World Cup was due to be held in Japan in December 2021, but the Asian giants have opted against hosting the competition.

However, Due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, Japan has decided to relinquish its right to host the tournament and are now in discussions with FIFA over finding another venue.

Japan are worried about hosting the tournament due to the risk of increasing infections and difficulty of delivering profit from the competition because crowds are expected to be capped.

No official announcement has been done by FIFA, but oil rich Qatar is looking the most possible alternative.

Chelsea are one of the clubs set to take part having won the Champions League back in May.

Chelsea missed out on winning the Club World Cup back in 2012, after losing to Corinthians in the final.
