“It’s weird, I haven’t seen a replay” – Southampton boss hits at Mike Dean after Chelsea 3-1 victory

The Blues claimed all 3points against Southampton at Stamford Bridge, goals from Chalobah, Timo Werner and Ben Chilwell seals the win.

However, Speaking after the game, Saints boss Ralph Hasenhuttl blasted the decision made by VAR to issue a red card to James Ward-Prowse after a late tackle on Jorginho.

Hasenhuttl believes his side could have gotten something from the game had VAR not given a red card to his captain. He also didn’t deem Ward-Prowse tackle as a red card offence.

“I know when Mike Dean is VAR he will definitely tell the referee to have a look at it,” said Hasenhuttl.

“I haven’t seen a replay, and I don’t want to say it’s Ward-Prowse’s fault it’s a red card. He was attacking a bad pass from the goalkeeper and he’s maybe a little bit late.

“A yellow card OK, but a red card is harsh. The red card is a real pity. It would be interesting to see what would have happened in the last 15 minutes without the red card.

“James is the captain and he knows he didn’t help us today. But there’s no reason to be angry about this, we showed a good performance today. And it’s a pity we couldn’t finalise it.”
