Just in: Despite signing Saul Niguez Chelsea still keen to land £80m midfielder in January

According to transfer insider Dean Jones via The Sun, Chelsea are targeting Borussia Dortmund star Jude Bellingham and could make a transfer move in January.

The Blues are keen on signing the Borussia Dortmund star despite signing Saul Niguez on loan with an option to buy from Atlético Madrid during the summer transfer window.

18 year old Bellingham has become an important player for Borussia Dortmund since joining the German side from Birmingham City.

Jones said as quoted by The Sun: “Jude Bellingham’s been on Chelsea’s radar for the past year or so. And I think that situation is one they’ll start to explore further in the new year.”

Jones has explained previously that Chelsea are eyeing Bellingham as an alternative to first-choice Declan Rice.

West Ham are demanding £100million for Rice, a fee the Blues are unwilling to pay for the England international.

Bellingham has become an important player for Dortmund and already has one goal and two assists in three appearances this season.
