Just in: Ole Solskjaer set to copy this Tuchel’s formation next season following their latest signing

Manchester United have announced that they have reached an agreement with Real Madrid to sign Madrid star Raphael Varane.

United fans will be pleased with this deal as Varane comes with loads of experience on his belt, and his trophy haul will definitely be the richest in the Manchester United dressing room, with a World Cup medal, four Champions League medals and also three La Liga titles to his belt.

It was expected that Manchester United signed Varane to replace Victor Lindelof, with the Frenchman expected to form a partnership beside Harry Maguire in the centre of defence.

However, the Athletic has claimed that Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will want to use the three at the back system next season.

Chelsea have been successful with the three at the back in recent years, as Antonio Conte won the Premier League with this system, with his team experiencing a dramatic turnaround after he switched to this formation.

Thomas Tuchel transformed the Chelsea team last season as he deployed this system upon his appointment in January. Playing the three at the back, he guided Chelsea to a top four finish and the FA Cup final, and the Blues marched on to win the Champions League in grand style.

Meanwhile, Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has shown his tactical diversity as he fielded two separate formation in the game against the Cherries.

Chelsea started the game in a familiar 3-4-3 shape, albeit moved to a 3-5-2 system in the second half, with youngsters Ike Ugbo and Armando Broja paired upfront.

The tactical switch paid off, as Broja and Ugbo scored a goal apiece to give Chelsea the win.
