Kante replacement found? Tuchel possible £50M Chelsea signing ‘wants to join bigger club’

According to Ian Wright reckons Leeds star Kalvin Phillips wants to leave to join a bigger club, amid all the speculation that Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel would like to add him to the squad in the transfer window

The 26 year-old is out of contract at the end of the 2023-24 season and there has been alot of speculation suggesting that Arsenal would love to bring him to the club in a deal worth around £40 million

Chelsea may not be able to sign any players right now or do any transfer business – but that has not stopped speculation that the club are eyeing up possible replacements for Ngolo Kante.

Kante is a player that is one of the best ion world football – but it is believed that PSG will make him an offer during the summer transfer window and offer him a fresh challenge back in his homeland

And Phillips is seen as a man that has the ability and quality to play for the biggest clubs in the English game – but has been so loyal to Leeds that he has not yet considered leaving the club

Now, amid all the speculation about the future of Phillips – Wright has opened up and claimed that the Englishman is keen to make a move to a bigger club, Wright said on his podcast: “A lot of big teams need a player in that position. He’s a sought-after player.

“Phillips doesn’t strike me as a player who wants to play for Leeds. He wants to win things.

“Leeds need to start putting things in place where they’re challenging for Europe for the likes of him and Raphinha to stay but I think Raphinha will leave [this summer].”
